Choices. 2001 Autumn; 18-9.In Moldova, where many young people suffer from hunger and unemployment, young people do not consider sexual and reproductive health (SRH) issues to be of high priority. This attitude complicated the advocacy efforts of young people who helped the Family Planning Association of Moldova (FPAM) promote a new family planning law. Young group members initiated discussion with their peers, and high school and university students on reproductive health issues and the necessity of family planning legislation in the country. Nonetheless, the reproductive health legislation passed the Moldavian Parliament and was approved by the country's president on July 27, 2001.
