    The situation analysis of discrimination, stigmatization and the ethical and legal aspects in the context of HIV/AIDS in West and Central Africa forms part of the documentation of experiences in the different countries, aimed at providing adequate responses to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The objectives of the study, conducted by the UNAIDS Inter-Country Team and the network of people living with HIV/AIDS for West and Central Africa were as follows: to identify the factors that promote or impede the welfare of people living with HIV/AIDS in the community; to understand the difficulties of involving PLWHA in HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment actions; to propose solutions for ensuring respect of the rights of PLWHA.
