    This paper presents the provisions of the Convention on Biological Diversity of the UN Environment Program of June 5, 1992. The objectives of the Convention were 1) the conservation of biological diversity; 2) the sustainable use of its components; and 3) the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising out of the utilization of genetic resources.
