Berlin, Federal Repubic of Germany, Springer-Verlag, 1988. :9-20. Abstract: Migration theory consists of a microlevel and a macrolevel of consideration, and it is decisive to understand how these levels are linked. In this case, the microlevel consists of single individuals moving from an origin to a destination region at certain times, and the macrolevel is defined by a few aggregate variables: regional population numbers and interregional population flows. The authors discuss population configuration and migration matrix, the decision process, and transition probabilities as functions of dynamic utilities and mobilities.
